Dial M for Murder

Elegance, social stature and wealth are the driving forces behind the costume design of "Dial M for Murder."  Tony

and Max dress in three piece or double breasted suits and don't hesitate to don a tux for a simple evening at the theatre.  A preppy sweater vest, dress shirt and tie or brocade smoking jacket with an ascot are as relaxed as their clothing gets.  Margot wears stylish dresses in dramatic colors throughout the play except when she is released from jail.  Even Inspector Hubbard, a working cop,  gives the appearance of wealth as he changes vests, ties and pocket squares to improve his rather drab wool suit. Lesgate, Tony's lowlife acquaintance, has has been hired to kill Margot.  With rumpled white shirt, drab tie, shabby sport coat and worn trench coat, he looks every bit the criminal.
